Cowboy

I got a chance to get into Tootie's big boy room today & hand the knick-knack I bought. I've very happy with the way this room is turning out. It's so close to being done, although DH & I keep coming up with new ideas (* items below).

Tootie' Cowboy Bedroom

I'm only going to post a few before pictures and 1 during picture because the room is close to being done. We are putting red barn board around the room for the "barn" look. I'm also making blind, curtains, and blanket for the room.

Master closet & bath area - in progress

This is a big project that has taken a long time. Mainly due to time issues. We had a double sliding closet that we are turning into a walk in closet & vanity. 1 1/2 of the closets will be the walk in closet and the other 1/2 closet is a vanity area. The wall dividing the bath area from the sink area will be a pony wall & will eventually have a hidden storage area. We will eventually update the sink, tub and flooring. Oh, there was a door from the closet area that went to the loft area. That has been closed off.

Kitchen... done for now

The kitchen was the first room to get turn upside done and re-done. Most likely everything we did is just temporary until the money tree explodes. The cabinets weren't in the best shape. After much discussion DH agreed to painting the cabinets red. We also replaced the existing stove, dishwasher, & sink fixtures. The new stove & dishwasher came from Home Depot. DH took out the bulky mounted microwave and replaced it with a stainless steal hood. We also laid laminate wood planks for a quick flooring fix. DH also took out the fluorescent lighting & replaced it with canned lighting. He removed the cabinets above the pass through counter, cut the in half & remounted them to the wall. He then added pendant lights and more canned lighting above the sink. It's a totally different kitchen!

Nursery - still in progress

I'm hoping to get the nursery done very soon. I can work on it some more after Tootie's big boy room is finished and he is totally moved into there. Wouldn't dare have him sleep in a "girly" room. ;) All that is done in there is painting, molding, and a chandelier was hung. DH's parents helped with all this. Oh, DH & his dad hung a fan in there (also in the other 2 bedrooms). I still have final touches to do. No before picture, but here are a few "in progress" pictures...

The paint above the molding is the original room color. The paint below the molding is a silver sage color from Restoration Hardware.

Down stairs bathroom

I did this quick one day project with the help of a friend while Tootie & DH were back East for his brother's wedding. I was about 8 months pregnant with Princess at this time. Maybe I was nesting, but I had the itch to transform that room. I was also very tired of the flooring that was there. It wasn't "us", it was part of the previous owner. I painted the walls an orange color from Home Depot's Ralph Lauren collection. The vanity, medicine cabinet and the wood around the lights were painted black. I replaced the big square mirror with an oval mirror. I laid down laminate wood planks (temporary quick fix). For an additional splash of color I found fushcia towels at Linens N Things. Gotta love those 20% off coupons!! I would love to replace the shower door.
